Digital Video Camera

Digital Cameras can offer one thing that film lacked, convenience. With your digital camera you can review your photos or videos instantly, and putting them on your computer is a simple drag and drop operation via a USB cable or card reader. Now that we are in the digital age, instant gratification is expected in everything.

Convenience is one of the major driving forces behind the digital video camera technology taking off. The MiniDV does a better job of handling rapid movement than the MPEG-2 Camcorder.

Transferring your movies to your PC with a DVD camcorder usually involves connecting your camera to your PC via a USB cable and then using software provided by the vendor to import the movies from the disc to your PC. The downside here is that you must often use the software provided to do the transfer. With MiniDV cameras, you can usually use any video editor that provides a digital video capture function.
